Review on Audio Technica AT VM95C Moving Turntable Cartridge by Darryl Buck

I am impressed! Record player cartridge

I was looking for a replacement cartridge for my Denon record player. Decided to try AT VM95C. I figured since the needles in this range are upgradeable I'd start with the cheapest tapered needle to see if I like it first. Wow, I was surprised! This thing sounds so good I don't even need an upgrade. It really is that good. Great separation, nice deep tight bass, soft mids and highs and no siblings! I am more than happy with my purchase. I've known Audio Technica cartridges since I used them in the 70's so I went back to them. I've always had good luck with them. I know people will say buy an elliptical and I could, but I gotta tell you. I love this cartridge! Highly recommended and not expensive! FYI it happily tracks 1.8 grams of weight, any weight is heavier and the cantilever moves too much. On my turntable this cartridge also likes 2.8 anti-skate. You have to experiment on your desk. I have a Denon DP300F. Rock it!
