Since I have been wearing Game One headphones along with the Xonar Phoebus for about a year, I have a twinge of guilt over being screwed but not realizing it. First off, aside from vacuum plugs, specifically monitor ones, I've owned the HD 518, PC 350 GAME, and HD 599 from Sennheiser. The trouble is, I'm not sure which ones compare them, but I'll attempt to do it in sequence. 1) HD 518 (which I currently own in portable form) - It is obvious that the sound of the 518s does not reach these gaming ones, in that they start to wheeze, but overall, I would not say that the sound is extremely different, clearly not twice, given the price. 2) PC 350 GAME (I once purchased a copy of Game Zero for 3500) In terms of sound quality and multimedia content, they are almost identical if you ignore the fact that these are closed headphones. Nevertheless, they were definitely worth the money; even after accounting for exchange rates, their current price would be $6k+-, which is a reasonable price. Well, HD 599 are even more affordable. Sincere confession: Game One headphones priced between $599 and $799 have ABSOLUTELY different sound levels. Although 599 is cleaner and has a larger view, they are only more musical in that regard. Additionally, they are more comfortable due to the fact that they are lighter and sit more comfortably. After all, one set of them are gaming headphones, and they were designed with a tighter fit to improve sound insulation at least somewhat (on open-type headphones, this is difficult to do). However, since you chose open-type headphones, soundproofing is not a big concern for you. In conclusion, if you want multimedia headphones, it is preferable to purchase the 599, play around with the equalizer, and warm it up before using it (after all, you don't just watch gaming ears). You should also purchase a separate microphone. Because of their price—the objective cost of these headphones is $6,000—Game One are a product that I can't say is good or awful. I hope your decision turns out well.
