I originally bought this for my dog crate but as I have yet to assemble it I thought of another use. My dog loves to go everywhere with me, but when the temperature where I live reaches puberty or below zero, I stop bringing him food etc. It gets terribly cold in my car at these temperatures. So I did an experiment (after using it at home and realizing it "seems" to work) when the weather dropped below 20 degrees and I took it with food delivery. I was gone 30 minutes. When I came back I checked the blanket under my dog and it was very warm. My dog was also asleep when I returned and was very comfortable on the mat. I don't have any other blanket either. I only have it in the pet hammock in the back seat. This is a big dog, fluffy, but with only one coat.
