Review on πŸ”ͺ Microplane 34006 4-Sided Stainless Steel Ultra-Sharp Multi-Purpose Box Grater - Large 10 inch, Black: Superior Kitchen Tool for Efficient Grating by Donald Marin

There's no such thing as reinventing the wheel

Of the 5 Microplane graters I currently own, this is my least favorite. After a year of use, this is my opinion. It seems someone has decided they need to make this box grater different from what I consider the already classic and efficient configuration. My complaints: 1. The grid with large holes is too wide. You can't get that classic potato wedge for a great hash brown. The size of this grill can also make it difficult to use when judging hard cheese or boiled potatoes. 2. I don't need lattice"tape". Should have gone with a smaller grid. It's also a pain to clear up. 3. "Slicer" is also too thick to use and with only one blade. The detachable fine grid is fine, but I already have a microplane that will do the job. It was important to stick to the classic approach. I love Microplane in general but this part is over thought out and not designed that well. I would suggest looking for a more traditional design.
