I bought this because of the price and size. At 7" this is the biggest doorstop I could find at a great price. I knew I had it had to change to 9". I used a 5/8 wood dowel and inserted it into the rubber stop on the end of the doorstop with a Phillips head screw. Cut a piece of dowel with pre-drilled and countersunk holes for the rubber stop. Painted and opened at the door opening with hot glue attached to the inside of the doorway.Why hot glue if needed, in the future I can remove the dowel and remake as I want.Moreover, the thickness of the glue occupies the space between the dowel and the doorstop to ensure a secure, strong connection to ensure. Works great, easy to resize to any size over 7". Easy to install Comes with 3 Phillips screws. Update: The modified item works great, wife didn't know I had it mounted on our door, she saw it say wow it's big and thought it was a great idea and looks good. So if it helps in any way, the woman approves it.
