My 10 year old niece has been asking for this for over a year and nobody wanted it for her because she doesn't care. I had no ideas for a Christmas present for her and thought this would be a big hit. I put the batteries in and put them in a beautiful pink camera bag (which she mistook for a purse). When she burst into tears, I knew I did the right thing. I received a refurbished camera with 3 months warranty and it's been 1 month and so far so good. I sat down with her and we read ALL the instructions together. How to load film, film cost (to avoid wasting expensive film), how to charge batteries, make sure film is out of direct sunlight and ALWAYS keep it in the bag I bought and away from her little sister. and brother, as well as 3 dogs in the house.
