The radio works well but the dynamo (start) or charging from the solar panel is a joke. A dynamo and solar panel charges a cheap, small-capacity NiMH battery. The problem is that this battery has a very short lifespan. You can replace it, but with shipping and tax (CA), the cost of C Crane is more than $20. Other similar packages are around $4, but the C Crane connector is proprietary so they won't work. You can buy an expensive battery charger, but C Crane says NOT to turn on the radio while charging - crappy design. You can get a good, different brand portable radio for the cost of a C Crane spare battery.
