Do not use on dogs! for equestrian sport

I used them on my Golden Retriever's matt coat on the back and under the belly. . They walked through the mats perfectly, but they also cut them! I'm talking about smooth skin, not legs or skin folds. I've never owned a clipper like this before. Fair warning!
