Review on 💡 EVGA 500W1 Power Supply, 80 Plus White 500W (100-W1-0500-KR) by Loud Forrest

Let me start with the good stuff. The power supply is good when it works. Seems well built and I've bought 6 of these over the last few years. The cables are well fitted and the fan is quiet. Even contacting support was easy. Now a question. When the PSU died, not only did it shut down power, I fried my motherboard, memory, and one of the SSDs in the car. I don't know how, but the processor still runs like a champ. The power supply still puts out some current, but the voltage levels are inconsistent and often too low. So, it's done, I call evga about replacing the PSU under warranty. (I didn't mention anything else as they don't cover it anyway) and they go through everything and confirm that it's still a guarantee and if I go online (they tell me that while I'm talking to them) and archive it and call them back they will start the RMA process which should only take 24 hours. Then when they get the PSU from me (I pay shipping) they seem like the new slowest and cheapest way to me. In general, the process takes about a week and a half, plus no matter how much I take - only 2 weeks. Also, I don't have shipping, which costs around $20 (or more if I don't go for the cheapest option). So a $40 PSU will cost me at least $20 and a two week wait for a computer I use every day. . After it damaged my computer I won't put another in something I care about plus the time and expense making it questionable if it's even worth sending it back and wasting time. For me, evga power supplies are not worth it. I suggest buying something cheaper or much more reliable depending on your needs.
