Broke trying to get it on an Apple Pencil

All instructions said "Compress as slowly as possible." I didn't have to worry about moving slowly because the apple pencil wouldn't move would move. An alcohol swab was included. I thought maybe I should have used it on an apple pencil to make it glide easier. NO, that didn't work either. The sleeve began to tear with every effort, trying to push the pencil in. THE BACK!
