Review on Black Rose Garden Arch By Gardman R350 - 75 Inches Tall, 39 Inches Wide And 19 Inches Deep by John Shitifano

Good utility arch, not sure how well plastic connectors will hold up as time goes

Do not expect this to look like a several hundred dollar arch - it is more of the utility arch than a front piece. It looks pretty much like PVC arch, but black. Of course it has metal parts, which are made quite well, but plastic connectors make it look cheap, but well - it is cheap. However, if you will grow some dense growing vines on it, it will look just fine. I bought two for my beans and cucumbers, and other climbing vegetables. I have a small community garden plot, so this will save me space and I will be able to walk under the arches, because I placed them between raised beds. It was pretty easy to assemble, but I did it a bit differently than instructions suggested -I do not think it was possible to do, how they suggested as sleeves wouldn't allow plastic parts to go over them. I made top arch part first, then sides. I was careful with plastic parts because of the reviews, and they were just fine. I like that kits had stakes to drive holes into the ground with marked level on them -very useful. I might use them for other stakes as well. For my purposes, I added twine to them to help plants to hang on better. So for now I am quite pleased with them, just concerned how plastic connectors will hold up, and when they go, will we be able to find something that fits, because they way arches are made, plastic connectors hold all the metal pieces together, no holes to connect them in another way.

Pros
  • Can be used to highlight a specific area in the garden
Cons
  • The arch's frame may rattle or vibrate in high winds, making it noisy
