I bought them for my 10 month old baby who is starting to walk on his own. She usually walks around the house barefoot for better traction, but as the weather improves I wanted some outdoor shoes to protect her feet. They are soft and therefore ideal for babies who are not yet sure of their support. Thanks to the elastic band, they are not only easy to put on, but also difficult for children to take off! They stay on my daughter's legs until I take them off. Their only downside is that being a leather-like material, they don't breathe at all. I live in a very humid environment, so my daughter's feet always sweat a lot when I take them off, so I don't get to use them often in the summer. For us, they are perfect for spring and fall weather.
