I suspect most people who buy this (or something similar) will want to get their hands a little dirty and be some sort of handyman. I fall into that category and knew what I was getting as I had an earlier machine (HT402) many years ago. This is definitely not a Vonage/Ooma/etc experience. plug and play However; If you're willing to do a little research/experiment, or if you're lucky enough to have a VoIP provider detailing the settings for this device for you, this is a great device with almost endless options/settings. And of course it is transferrable to most providers.
