I installed motion sensor light bulbs in alcoves on our porch. Due to the depth of the light, the motion sensor only triggered when someone was directly underneath. Socket extender adapters allow the bulbs to dangle far enough to trigger the motion sensor bulbs when people are about fifteen feet from the porch.
