Extremely Soft. My dog is a 4.5 lb maltese chihuahua yorkshire terrier and his 12.5 inch chest is a little loose on her but it's great because we can put her on and off without buttoning the buttons and at the same time she is fit enough to use the bathroom, walk around and for her dishes over it. The hood doesn't quite hold up because it's too big, but she's a fun dog with ears, so that's fine. It's also the softest piece of clothing she owns, and while she occasionally freezes or trots in weird circles with her other sweaters, she's more comfortable in it.
