Review on Cassida Tiger: UV Digital Bill Counter With Advanced Counterfeit Detection In Sleek Grey Design by Greg Cunningham

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Not worth buying - my new review

This machine counts 5’s, 10’s, 20’s, 50’s and 100’s just fine. When I try to count one dollar bills, it always jams before it counts even 20 bills. I’ve tried removing all ripped and crinkled bills before counting but it still jams. I tried removing the bills that jammed the machine and re-running the stack and it still jams. I called the manufacturer and the customer service rep was no help other than telling me that it’s probably worn bills that jam. I found a review on Ebay that described how to lower the sensitivity on the machine (something the customer service rep didn’t do). I did that and it still jams constantly. I count money for a large church and we use the machine only once a week. We have hundreds of one dollar bills to count each week. After all this fiddling around, it is past the 30 day return policy so we are stuck with a clunker. If I would have known this, I would have purchased the higher priced model where you can set the speed of counting slower. I would think that would help with jamming. This machine runs through a stack of 100 bills in 2 seconds but if it constantly jams, what good is it? Or maybe you have to buy a bank grade machine costing $1,000+. So, for me, it’s $150 wasted and back to counting bills by hand.Update: Ebay was nice enough to allow us to upgrade to the Cassida Advantec75 model and pay the difference. The Advantec does a great job counting all bills including ones on the slower speed. I'm leaving my rating of the Tiger model at 1.

Pros
  • ‎Cassida Corporation
Cons
  • The Cassida Tiger's size and weight make it difficult to transport or move, limiting its flexibility for those who need to use it in multiple locations
