I bought this unit as a backup whilst my bowl model was being repaired and found this model to be better built than the previous model in terms of reliability . a similar Foodver model that I usually use if I don't get a fix every 6-7 months. The Nesco design has locks on both sides, which looks like it should hold up better than the Food Saver brand, which loses suction on one side because it only has a lock on one side. Nesco doesn't have a usual suction design like the Foodsaver, however, and so with larger pouches used for larger cuts of meat, you'll have to restart the suction process without opening the device two or sometimes three times to get all the air out. from the packaging before sealing. Because of the price, this is a good model if you're on a budget or have a stock of products that run 2-3 times a year during the 3-year warranty process. Also since I bought it from Revain I've been able to purchase a 4 year warranty which looks like a guarantee of a quicker repair if there ever is a breakage issue which I don't expect as it seems to be a more durable design than the equivalent Foodsaver model.
