I got this because we adopted a dog (now legally adopted) and he came to the door when he wanted to go outside. Unfortunately we didn't always see him waiting and he had an accident at the door a couple of times. Got this so we knew as soon as it was at the door and ready to go. The second day I heard the bell, ran up and let go of our dog, he ran outside with terrible explosive diarrhea. This is an 85lb dog so was very thankful to have him - otherwise I'd probably have to repaint the hallway... Volume control would be great as it's very loud - very sensitive motion sensor.
