Review on Comica CVM-AX1 Audio Mixer Adapter Review: Dual Channel 3.5mm Port Camera Mixer Supporting Real-time Monitoring for Canon, Nikon, Sony, Panasonic DSLR Camera Camcorders by Paul Ruberto

It's a bit cumbersome, but has proven to be a valuable tool.

So far I love this product. This gave me the opportunity to make sure my mics were on and working properly, which was invaluable. I haven't had the chance to record with two mono mics, but since it's easy to use both channels of the stereo input I see no reason why it shouldn't work the same way. I only have two complaints about this product. The first installation is a bit problematic. I am using a Canon M50 with a Smallrig cage and a 7" top mounted screen. The included cold shoe mount wasn't high enough to fit properly. I replaced it with a rotating cold shoe mount, which worked for a while before the rotating joint broke. a solid straight cold shoe mount that seems to work fairly well, although the swivel was a bit more compact. My second and final complaint is the channel balance. When I record, I use a stereo microphone. Both controls are set the same, the sound on the right is always slightly higher than on the left, which tells me the controls were out of sync. I don't know if there is a solution to this problem or if I need to look into it. So far I've done that in post-production.
