I'm pretty old fashioned when it comes to electrical connections but decided to try them out for an application where soldering seemed difficult. The wires were different sizes - 16 gauge on one side and 10 gauge on the other. I stripped the wires, installed the 10 gauge side ferrules, and twisted the wires together. I was surprised at how easy it was to slide the ferrules onto the strands and use a ratchet crimping tool to crimp the ferrules. Finished links are very strong; I can't see any and I really tried. So I am convinced of them.
