I replaced this unit after using my InstantPot for nearly 2 years. I store my pot (after use and washing) in my cupboard beneath the breakfast bar. I noticed a mild, stale odor whenever I retrieved my InstantPot for use. After research I determined that it was the gasket on the lid which absorbs food odors over time - I bought this replacement gasket. It works beautifully. If you remove the gasket from the lid after each use for cleaning, allow it to air dry and then replace it on the lid, you can avoid the absorption of food odors thus extending the life of the gasket before needing to replace it again. This was a good buy, and value for the money. I intend to have backup gaskets on hand for this reason. Thank you
