Big brand cat scratching posts that I usually buy have been out of stock for a while so I bought 2 of these thinking I could put them together as an alternative. Big mistake. Below are numerous quality and security issues.1. Two good sides, two cheap sides. 2 sides are nice and tight for scratching and 2 sides are just long strips. See photo - the cats immediately began to crush them. In fact, even though it's square, only two sides are strong. Chemical smell. They have a distinct odor (like paint thinner) that I can smell for a few days after unboxing. I think it's from the clear coat side, but if your cat is chewing something or you have a dog I would be concerned about toxicity.3. Arrived damaged. The box it came in was immaculate so it was obviously damaged pre-packaging. See photo. I think you get what you pay for. When Revain called their product Revain Essentials, I didn't know what they meant literally. Will not buy again nor recommend it.
