Failed twice in less than a year

About 120,000 miles later I noticed that one of my original shock absorbers on my 2010 Mazda 3 was leaking. Great price for KYB so I'll try them. I've used KYB products before and got lucky, so I expected them to work well. I installed them and didn't really notice a difference in handling, but maybe the shock of the original version wasn't that bad. After about a year or about 20,000 miles after installation, the ride went very bad very quickly. I used the KYB lifetime warranty and ordered two more shocks. After removing the bad, I tried to compress it and found I could only compress it by half. Well we all have wrecks. I figured it might have been a manufacturing defect and being electrocuted a year later would certainly give them time to fix a major flaw in the process, right? Not correct. Very very very wrong. I had new ones about 3 months later when one failed completely and the hydraulic load dropped completely. Unlike the first catastrophic failure, this jerk remained fully extended, with no dampening whatsoever. It was like driving a beach ball inflated to 500psi. I gave them two chances, but not this time. I replaced them with equivalent Monroe shocks and all was good. No sound, no liquid yet. Drive like the original. Although I've had good experiences with KYB in the past, I ended up going there. To be fair, I didn't contact them the second time, and I didn't want a car like that. I'm sure they would replace them again, but no thanks. By the way, before and after changing the shock absorbers, I had random noises in the rear suspension. I thought it was the shocks, but it turned out to be a bad sway bar connection. I also noticed that since purchasing the original KYB kit, the original reviews have disappeared. Strange. Now there are only a few of them here.
