Don't waste your money! I bought this product as a precaution when I bought a new carpet. My dogs ruined every other rug I had because they felt the need to mark it. I sprayed this stuff on my new carpet so the dogs wouldn't get it dirty. First, the smell is terrible! It's an extract of mustard and is said to be "almost undetectable in humans," which isn't true at all. The smell is very strong and unpleasant. It's fading a bit, but it's still noticeable up close. Second, it just didn't work. I sprayed my new carpet right after laying it out so the dogs wouldn't rub it off. On the third day, one of the dogs urinated on him. On the 4th day the same dog pooped on him in almost the same spot, although I sprayed him with that foul smelling spray again after the pissing incident. Not worth the money and hassle.
