First of all I would like to say that I bought this motherboard on the recommendation of several YouTubers. Basically Buildzoid from "Really Hardcore Overclocking". In terms of value for money this board seems to top most lists and comes highly recommended. I mainly use this PC for gaming with light video editing, running some VMs and rendering. I paired this motherboard with a Ryzen 9 3900x and a 32GB Corsair 3200MHz RAM kit. My choice of RAM was that it seemed to offer the best value and I could always replace it later if I absolutely needed it. So far the BIOS version released the same day I received it (4/10/20) seems to be working fine. My biggest complaint is ASUS QA. The board itself is solid, but I didn't properly perforate the backplate/I/O shield. The top USB ports (including a USB Type-C port) do not align completely with the shield, making it extremely difficult to connect devices to the USB ports. You can hear the screen scratching on the USB port when you plug something in. When I first saw this I thought maybe I had installed the board wrong or my spacers were too short or something. No, that's how the I/O screen is broken. Second, minor considerations: there is a USB 3 connector on the motherboard, there are no Type-C connectors. Keep this in mind if your case has a USB Type-C port on the front. The onboard audio is good enough, I use that and an old Soundblaster Z-series card for additional audio I/O. I'm not a music lover or anything, but the extra I/O comes in handy when trying to capture footage and have audio from multiple sources. Realtek LAN had no issues during my brief test. I've since disabled it and replaced it with the dual port Gigabit Intel NIC I had. If you don't like the boot logo, you can replace it with your own by flashing the BIOS with the Asus EZ Update Tool. The only downside to installing a tool is that it runs at startup and doesn't show up as a startup item, so you can't disable it unless you uninstall it. As other reviewers point out, the chipset fan is actually "stalled" by large GPUs. The gap is adequate and I don't think it would make much of a difference whether the GPU was there or not. The fan only really runs at maximum speed when using PCI-E 4.0 devices. All in all, this is a pretty solid motherboard. There seems to have been a price increase lately. Now it costs the same as the Wi-Fi version. If you can get it earlier, choose the Wi-Fi version. Otherwise, wait for the price to return to what it was (about a hundred and sixty five, which is what I bought it for).
