Bought this to replace my manual can opener as my wife didn't like the manual style and my mother-in-law who lives with us couldn't work with her very well enough strength in the hands. When it arrived they put in fresh AA alkaline batteries and a few cans I opened with it seemed fine. Not perfect but got the job done. Set aside until needed. After a few weeks the can had to be opened and seemed to be losing its potency. It took 3 attempts to open the jar so I removed the lid myself. The next time I needed it it barely seemed to work. I put in new batteries, it got better but still weak. If it can only work with 1-2 banks with one set of batteries, it must come with a pre-installed rechargeable lithium-ion battery. I do NOT recommend this product.
