Review on Alpinestars Drystar Textile Motorcycle Jacket by Arturo Reyes

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Only the CE 1 armor and the thermal pad are a bit flimsy

So let me say straight away that this is a really good thigh length jacket that looks well tailored. . It uses a non-removable (non-removable) waterproofing membrane liner (which I haven't tested yet) and a removable thermal liner. Plenty of pockets inside and out as well as good adjustment in the arms and mid-torso. I may have overlooked it, but the shoulder and elbow armor is "only" CE 1, as opposed to the more impact-resistant CE 2. The trade-off is that the jacket is lighter and less restrictive. The thermal lining feels a bit thin and tends to rise slightly from the bottom hem. Alpinestars seems to reserve the best armor for $500+ jackets.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • I don't like anything about it, everything is fine
