later This little device is a winner! I had child safety straps attached to my stove and cabinet doors but they kept getting in the way - every time I opened the oven door I had to slide the straps back to close the door. This method was very tedious and my very curious kid will probably figure out how to undo these straps soon, so it's time for an upgrade. With this new gadget, I just turn the lock and open the door. That's all - no fuss with the straps that close in the door. Simply press the buttons on the gadget and twist to open, twist to close and your oven is locked. The adhesive on the double-sided tape that holds this lock to the surface sticks very well to the oven surface. I prepped the oven surface by first cleaning it with rubbing alcohol on a paper towel to make sure the unit was sticking really well. I am very thankful for this new attachment for my oven as it makes my time in the kitchen less stressful, I just wish I had known sooner. If I knew this product existed I would never put other child safety locks on my cooker and cabinets because now I have to remove the previous child safety locks which will be excruciating as the glue on it is so sticky. Please save yourself the hassle and get this gadget. Oh, and it looks really nice too, it goes perfectly with the oven. love this product!
