Review on ๐Ÿ‘ฃ Ergodyne TREX 6304 Step In Ice Traction Cleat - X-Large, Black, with 12 Carbon Steel Spike Grips by Deron Gilliam

Revainrating 5 out of 5

For walking the dog on an icy surface in the dark, these things are EXCELLENT.

I doubt they can be used as crampons. But for the ice, which I have in abundance here in Minnesota, ordinary boots become shoes that can be used in almost any condition. They only have trouble walking through several inches of snow on ice; Snow collects under the sole of the shoe, preventing the hard metal grips from reaching the ice. While they work well, you can still slip on ice when running or moving fast, and they feel "creepy" on polished concrete. They will scratch the linoleum etc. One pair is enough for me for a winter - over time the handles wear out (on the back of the heel, like boots do) and then I choose a new set. Size XL on a size 12 men's boot and I've never had a problem with the rubber.

Pros
  • Clothing, shoes and jewelry
Cons
  • Exorbitant piggy bank
