I took this router to replace the RB962 (Hap AC), as it began to connect and periodically disconnect ethernet interfaces, followed by connecting them at low speeds. WiFi was not needed, so it was turned off, used as a router receiving Internet from three providers. All equipment is located on my balcony, in a 6u telecom cabinet. The air temperature on the balcony was 32.5 for hap ac and 33.5 for hex s. The router settings are identical. The photo shows that hex s is much hotter (by 8 degrees) than hap ac under the same conditions, but the sfp module turned out to be much colder, I took a new sfp from another manufacturer (Gigalink) Lowering the processor frequency has no effect on temperature . On the screen with the graph, you can see the moment of replacing one router with another. The temperature gradually rose to 58 degrees. Also, I will attribute the significantly increased speed of opening blocked sites via VPN to the pluses. If in the past Hap AC had to wait for the site to open for 10 seconds, now such sites open instantly, as if the line between VPN and non-VPN has been erased and now it is not felt at all. Information about SFP modules will be useful to many. SFP module works GIGALINK GL-OT-SG20SC1-1550-1310 receives internet from Seven Sky Hong Kong. The last module was Modultech MT-PB-5324S-03C issued by the provider. I will add: the heat does not spare, the router warmed up to 60 degrees and began to fail, the ethernet interfaces fall off. I had to put it under the cooler, in this case the temperature of the router dropped to 34 degrees, the sfp of the module to 41. Another added: for a day of work, it has already frozen 3-4 times on the latest long-term firmware uploaded via netinstall for no reason. The temperature of the router was only 30 degrees under the fan, the processor load was 10-15%. I googled my problem on specialized forums, and it turns out that there are a lot of us. Sadness. Lowered overall rating.
