I have an Asus ROG-G703xxx 17 inch gaming laptop. This laptop gets very hot especially when I compile code. I maintain the frequency so compile times are faster The laptop's fans run in the 5000-6700 RPM range under load (that's about 24 hours a day, 7 days a week), drowning out any noise from the cooler (which actually is minimal). I connected the USB to a separate power panel, which frees up my USB ports, which works great since the controls are on the front of the cooler. My only complaint is that I don't know how much I value cheap non-slip plastic sheets trust to prevent the laptop from sliding on the floor. If you have a thin and light laptop this shouldn't be a problem (but mine is a two inch thick laptop).
