You only need 3 of these thermal pads for this project. 4 if you think you can screw it up, but I honestly don't think you will if you're careful. So you are on the expensive side. 3 is good! When cutting I took the product out of the packaging but instead of removing the foil on both sides I put it on a piece of cardboard so as not to cut myself on a table or carpet. I've found that it's best to use the angle of a razor blade to cut through and then slide. Thermal pads are malleable but don't crumble, and with enough force they will snap, so use caution. The picture I've attached shows my placement before I put them on. Personally, I hate the cost because it's a thermal pad for each box. I hope this will help extend the life of my GPU. I will update if anything changes. The person who said pads are hard to separate from the board has never worked with thermal pads. Falls apart when trying to take it off.
