I've been an auto mechanic for almost 35 years and I have more tools than I can remember. I recently retired but still work on cars at home. A few years ago my house was flooded and I lost most of my diagnostic equipment including a Genesys OTC scanner with all my updates. So I was looking for something other than a simple code reader, I needed to display real-time data and be able to run some tests and functions. The low price was also important to me, I didn't want to spend a lot of money because I had moved away from the cabling. This scanner meets all the requirements. It's a lot lighter and smaller than my clunky old scanner and a lot faster. It can also do a lot more than my old scanner. I would definitely recommend this to any mechanic, even if you just want something for the home. Yes there are more expensive ones out there but for the shadow mechanic or master mechanic like me who just wants a scanner at home. This is the winner
