We love these and I'm pretty sure we'll be getting more as we don't use paper plates due to environmental concerns and because I'm allergic to paper. We love that they're made from palm leaves, which are naturally shed from trees - a great way to use a natural material with no carbon footprint. However, they are beautiful and durable, much stronger than paper plates. They flex a little, but not enough to spill food, even if they don't have useful edges. While there are small ridges on the surface of the veins of the leaf, they are not pronounced enough to cause problems; and they can even be a plus if you're eating something fried or slightly soggy (kale comes to mind) since none of the other foods on the plate stay inside. They don't seem to get wet, and we've even found that a plate with a little water can be air dried in a dish rack.
