There is an assertion in the description. however... 1.) it stuck to my floor and damaged my hardwood floor when I lifted it to do the "light cleaning method" then the dirt didn't come out of the woven grooves the dirt just flew all over the place during cleaning. shaking gently to try to get it out. I even tried rinsing it out with a hose but it was useless. I had to buy a special brush to clean it completely. Plus, cleaning up is a whole new challenge if your new kitten misses the crate or vomits onto the mat during litter box training. I do not recommend this being misadvertised and if I could I would return it. Not worth the money, especially when I have to invest nearly six hundred dollars to restore the hardwood floors.
