Sony VCA-42 External Antenna Specifications

First of all we have to thank the seller for the antenna being well packaged and protected. The antenna was delivered quickly. When opening the package, the antenna was exactly the same as in the description. Since the installation is pretty easy (including for connecting to the GPS), I read all the antenna placement instructions. I have a Sony Nav-U94t and without an antenna my typical GPS signal reception is pretty dim at best. I usually only have 2-3 yellow balls (below the GPS status bar), which corresponds to 2 strength bars. All others are mostly grey-white = 1 stripe. I rarely get an orange ball = 3 bars, what the strongest (best) acceptance indicator is. Remember that after how you connect the antenna to the rear GPS connector, you must be careful when removing it (it's pretty tough), or you risk damaging either the GPS antenna connector or the antenna connector, or both ! I decided to mount my antenna on top (driver's side front) of my Ford Expedition using a magnetic base/mount. When connecting to GPS I immediately noticed a 100x improvement while I rarely received (and saved) orange orbs in GPS status, now I get 4 or more and they stay locked. I drove around town a bit, passing through the following neighborhoods: St. Augustine, Clay, Duval, Jacksonville, Middleburg, and Orange Park. The front desk was/is maintained and maintained. Too bad I didn't have this product more than half a year ago. It would certainly save me a headache when taking it.
