Display face not as shown

The 2614Z display you will receive will likely have an all white number as evidenced by others who have purchased this display in the past. I have to say, probably because mine also arrived, 11-06-20 with all white numbers. It doesn't matter much and doesn't violate the terms and conditions, but the product is misrepresented. A visit to the AutoMeter website confirms this - current 2614Z meter numbers are all white. If you want a vacuum/boost gauge with yellow numbers check out the SportComp model 3303 with a SILVER case. The body is plastic, so painting the body of the Sport Comp-Silver 3303 gauge black is no big deal. Now let's move on to the pressure gauge - it has a plastic body, not steel. It has an incandescent bulb with wire-side contacts. The lamp socket contacts are not holding the lamp well, the lamp fell into the sensor when I was working on the final installation. A vehicle with hard suspension, e.g. B. a turbocharged vehicle can cause the bulb to knock out of the socket when driving on a bumpy road. So I pushed the pins out a bit to get a better grip on the bulb. I had LED bulbs that I didn't install for my car's license plate, so I used one of those for this sensor. I used a red lens cap to match the backlit fixtures in my car. If you are connecting an LED for this sensor, power it up before final installation to make sure the LED works, they are polarity sensitive, if they don't work, reverse the bulb. installed on a turbocharged car I built in the early 1980's with this autometer gauge for my Mazda Speed6. I installed a TurbSmart Duel BOV a few days ago so the 15psi VDO gauge needed to be replaced. I put this gauge on the windshield, closed the A-pillar, and it's the perfect place as long as it's not against the law. The VDO sensor housing is also 40 years old and has a swivel mount that I glued to the windshield with clear RTV sealant. With the LED bulb, the backlight on the meter with the red lens seems bright enough in daylight, so it should be fine at night too.
