I bought this as a monitor for surveillance cameras that record wildlife. It has good NTSC video inputs, no problem. Since I use it outdoors and it's sometimes difficult to shade the monitor in direct sunlight, I was hoping for a very bright picture. It's not as bright as I'd like, but it's better than many car DVRs I've tried. If it were a little brighter I would give it 5 stars for what I use it for. I like the internal battery but you have to be careful when charging it because the on/off switch determines if it actually charges or not. The red light comes on, but it just means you're connected to a power source. If the slide switch is not activated, you will not get a charged battery. When you use the power soft key, it is in standby mode, not "off" mode. So the battery will die. When you're done, always slide the slide switch to the off position. When you actually charge the battery, the red LED will turn off to indicate that it is fully charged. I love this monitor and will continue to use it.
