A few minor remarks but overall a good device

Excellent device. Used primarily for geocaching and moderate hiking, it suits my needs. The battery life is in no way inferior to other devices. Three small notes: First, the device has a firmware issue related to CHIRP functionality. When CHIRP is enabled, the device will turn itself off within a minute of being turned on. Was it a breach of the terms of the deal? No, but I was expecting more scrutiny from R&D and/or some decent beta testing to find similar issues. I don't think I've ever come across a cache of chirps in my area. However, this is a feature I paid for and I want it to work. The second issue has to do with the screen dimming/timeout. In my opinion, the device should be visible during the day, and the backlight should be on at night. However, in order to see the screen, the backlight must be on in full daylight. Again, this isn't a problem, but you really do need to use the screen a little more when caching than when you're walking. I haven't tested how this affects battery life, although I suspect it does. It is designed to work together with a smartphone like a smartwatch. It doesn't replace the phone when it comes to caching, and doesn't work well in that role as a standalone device. You must have a full-fledged phone with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to take full advantage of Geo's capabilities. If these little headaches don't bother you, I recommend this device. It has a great user interface and shouldn't look like a child's toy in the interface like cheaper devices. Easy to update, easy to use and easy to download maps.
