If you are purchasing the SX8200 Pro SSD based on rave reviews and performance, please search "SX8200", "SM2262G", "NAND". You'll notice that ADATA no longer ships the SM2262EN controller with this drive, instead shipping the SM2262G. They also change NAND memory chips. This means a reduction in performance of up to 30%. A very dirty business practice. Reputable websites like Toms Hardware and AnandTech have confirmed the change and the impact on performance. Almost all of the rave reviews were based on the SM2262EN controller, but instead of changing the model number along with replacing it with the SM2262G, ADATA chose not to inform customers about the change and the drop in performance compared to the drives tested. ADATA claims that the new drives meet official specifications, but does not claim that the new drives will perform as well as those originally verified based on the samples they provided. Very iffy and enough that I would never consider ADATA for anything in the future. Worse, I didn't see the Toms Hardware article until after the return deadline, so like many others I'm stuck on a 30% slower version. Never again.
