The boots are immediately soft and comfortable. They are not tight and will not tear. If you wear thick hiking socks, you can increase the size by 1/2. They appear to be well made and have good padding. I can't say how well they will perform on the track as it will take some time for the snow to melt. You have annual product insurance that must be activated within 48 hours of receiving the product. If the insurance is activated, your hiking boots will always be replaced free of charge. I think time will tell. I believe that I will be very satisfied with these boots.
