Update: Thought this might be useful information for those who are unsure on the subject - just got my tree for three years , and he looks like new. The light came on as soon as the cord was plugged into the outlet. With minimal decorating effort, it really adds to the holiday spirit! I've always wanted to have a little vacation in my office/bedroom, so when I saw this little tree I spontaneously ordered. I'm very glad I did - it was easy to customize and decorate. Everything was ready within 25-30 minutes. A few things to mention - you may need an extension as it is quite short (about 36 inches) and when you take the tree out of the box make sure you grab it by the base so the branches stack properly stay. Then shape and fluff, add some embellishments and it's ready to be displayed. For jewelry I bought an inexpensive set of 24 (40mm) which turned out to be a good quantity and size. This tree is better than I expected - very full and symmetrical. The weighted base is draped in burgundy fabric and tied with gold Cord as seen in the product photo. I am very happy with my choice and would recommend this item as a gift or as an added holiday sparkle. UPDATE - 3/12/18 - Some other reviews have noted issues with the lights. Having enjoyed this little tree every night since its arrival, there was no problem. Also the quantity/number of pre-tensioned lights seems to be quite sufficient for my needs. The base is well weighted to offer good stability if that's an issue. Happy holiday everyone!
