I used this to evaluate a used car I was planning to buy and it allowed me, as a layperson, to test drive the car. Excellent tool! The technical writer who wrote the manual made it easy to learn how to operate the MX808 and determine the condition of the vehicle. It identifies problems, explains codes, suggests reasons for error displays, shows corrective actions, and links to websites for more information. I was able to buy the car with MX808 test, carfax and physical inspection, I was sure that it had no mechanical problems. also conducts the emissions test required to pass the mandatory state inspection.
