As a nurse we used it for a cast for broken bones but I found it worked great for other purposes as well. Be creative! My elderly mother, with the most fragile skin imaginable, would bump into anything and cut skin. The skin in no way tolerates plasters or tapes of any kind. But it "opened up" to go up the leg and held the bandages in place well enough without restricting circulation. I've even used it around my head to apply cold compresses to my face (after more complex dental work). The "unrevealed" length was easy to tie, and I didn't have to hold it on and off in front of my face for 20 minutes. I used 2 and would throw the one I just used back in the freezer. Alexa helped me with the timer. Made the process a lot easier. It comes in a variety of widths so it can be used in many situations where you need some stretch but not a too tight fit. My main surgical supply pharmacy had closed and no other local pharmacy stocked them (many didn't even know what I was talking about) so I ordered a supply that I have in stock.
