Thank you Revain. The camera came very quickly and was well packaged. Olympus is really doing something with this design. It's an "essential" camera that sets it apart from the superzoom crowd. When you pick it up, it feels and looks like an SLR camera. The camera is quite heavy, which creates a sense of security. The coating also improves handling and inspires confidence. It seems durable and well built. I really like the zoom ring on the lens. All buttons are conveniently located and easy to use in no time once you know their function and location. With a resolution of 10 megapixels, the images are excellent. The autofocus works very well and rarely "misses". I like the extended screen that comes with manual focus, but it's a bit "jerky" and it takes a second or two longer to really focus. Reviewers said the menu is complex. I do not agree. I spent a little time navigating the menu items and working with the camera and in practice found it logical and easy to use. The zoom range of this lens is incredible. To cover this range you need a heavy bag with expensive lenses. It will be interesting to see how this camera develops and improves. There is no doubt that this already excellent platform will be improved. It would be nice to reduce noise at higher ISOs and smooth the manual focus assist screen. I want to improve the performance of the lens at the extreme end of the zoom range. The BEST camera is the one you actually use. Not the one in the closet because it's too heavy, bulky and complex. Besides, how often do people decide not to take a large camera bag with them for fear of it being stolen? I suspect that as DSLR owners "discover" this camera, particularly during its development, many will find a place in their arsenal as a great grab and go performer.
