You need mods for full protection depending on what boat you use.
Great product but depending on the boat it can also cause damage. The nose flare can depress the fender down as it rolls in, fully exposing the bolt and washer at the top, creating 1/16" grooves in our awcraft.2000 Blue Flag paint and gelcoat. Nearby was a small black rubber stopper that offered no protection. Then I modified the roller by removing it from the bracket and cutting 1 inch of tubing from the top. Put two tennis balls on the bottom stand to raise it and screw the tennis ball up. Now this should fully protect the side of the boat.
