Good quality phone - Lots of bells and whistles - Great customer service

I bought this phone for my almost 98 year old father who is very hard of hearing. We had some setup issues. But we used our cell phones and called the 800 number listed in the programming literature so they could put us through. We spoke to an incredibly friendly man named Daniel. He guided us through the installation step by step. Even helped us to solve some problems. It is important. My father has Internet telephony, which is good. Its main tube is in the living room and plugged into an outlet. We figured this phone could be put there and just take its place. This doesn't work if you need to sign calls. It MUST be connected to the router with the cable provided, otherwise subtitles cannot be received. You then plug it into a phone jack on the back of the router. We were able to use a splitter for the phone line so he could leave the extension he used to use in the living room. Daniel walked us through the registration process required for this type of phone. You must acknowledge that the user is hard of hearing. I didn't know this, but captions are created in such a way that there is actually a person associated with each call who actually types in the captions. The federal government pays for this service. Some type faster and more accurately than others, making some calls easier to read. Anyway, lots of good features in this phone. He just needs practice dealing with it. Proof would be if he continues to use it now that I'm back home (3 hours away).
