Review on Wacom Ergo Stand for Cintiq Pro 24: Optimize Your Digital Creativity and Comfort by David Pirlet

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Big and chunky

This stand complements my 24" Cintiq HD Pro VERY WELL. However, the setup replaces my original 24" Wacom Cintiq. My complaint relates to the size of the PROFILE. The original bassoon was a 1.5 inch Amour, this one is THREE INCHES thick. While it's nice to be able to rotate the tablet, it's not that useful, to be honest. After a few years of software, a feature was added to allow you to turn the digital side and get used to it. I still only use hotkeys to rotate my digital side. The extra 2 inches of thickness that the external mount adds is just not worth it in my opinion. To be clear, this is a very solid stand and I LOVE transferring knobs and wheels (which have never been used) to an external device. BUT since he sits in front of me all day, the extra FIVE INCHES in height is undesirable. I would have preferred the old style stand and tray. It's like a retreat into design. He does his job and does it VERY GOOD. But it's like having a dump truck when you really need a pickup. He does his job and does it VERY GOOD.
