I know that in some reviews the size, color and texture of the tile are contradictory. But honestly, for such a low price you don't get the perfect tile. Of course, the letters aren't engraved on the wood, but they're very well embossed and you really can't tell the difference unless you look closely. I have used these tiles to create custom coasters and I think they turned out great! In fact, I think the variations in the tree made them visually interesting. They're probably not the best replacement for game tiles, although I'm sure they'll work fine in a pinch, but if you want to make a craft or project for a dime then I definitely recommend using these tiles.
