My JRT injured the cruciate ligament; her favorite place is on our couch, but she couldn't get up there. When we got the ramp she was initially afraid to climb it. So we started feeding her while she was lying flat on the ground and gradually lifted her up. Also, we had to place her along our couch with her injured side against the couch so she wouldn't fall off if she slipped. For a while we also had a piece of cardboard on the open side to give it a wall feel. After a few weeks she was so good at it that we were able to remove the cardboard and she's climbing like a champ as long as she's in the position in the photo. If we try to move it vertically, it doesn't come close to it; As long as it's parallel, she feels safe
